Ravintsara comes from Cinnamomum camphora, a tree grown in Madagascar, where its leaves were chewed or brewed as an infusion for generations before being distilled into essential oil. Betsara distills its leaves on the plantation: the steam carries away the essential oil, and the fragrant water collected at the same time becomes the hydrosol, a gentle, water-based form of the plant. The same leaves are also dried and packed for infusions at home. Every batch is traced, and the brand publishes the chromatography analysis of each batch on its website.
