Propolia

Propolia is a French beekeeping brand devoted to propolis and the other treasures of the hive since 1979. Its formulas, from propolis supplements to honey blends and hive-based beauty care, are developed in its own laboratory in Occitania, and Paris Pharmacy ships them to the US straight from Paris.

Propolia: A Beekeeper's Passion for Propolis

The Propolia story starts with Marc-Alain Bernard, a beekeeper who set up his 600 hives near the shores of Lake Salagou, in Occitania, in 1975. The next year he discovered the qualities of propolis, until then considered a waste product of the hive, and in 1978 he developed his own process to purify and transform it. Propolia was born in 1979 with its very first Propolis Gums. By 1985 the brand was distributed by many French beekeepers and had opened a shop at its historic site in Clermont-l'Herault. Cosmetics joined the range in 1990, and between 2005 and 2014 the company built a site of more than 3,000 square meters to bring research, production, packaging and customer service under one roof. In 2017, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard handed the company over to their five children.

Key Propolia Product Lines

Organic Pure Chewing Propolis: Purified organic propolis with nothing added, in a pre-portioned strip of ten 1 g bars to soften slowly in the mouth.

Vital Energy Honey with Royal Jelly and Ginseng: A spoonable blend of honey, propolis, royal jelly, acerola, ginseng and papaya, taken as one spoonful each morning.

Key Ingredients and Technology

Propolia works with the five treasures of the bee kingdom: propolis, honey, pollen, royal jelly and beeswax. Propolis, the resinous substance that bees make from plant resins collected on tree buds, is the star of the range. Propolia selects it according to strict specifications and purifies it with its own process before shaping it or adding it to its formulas. For its formulas, every step, from selecting raw materials and purifying the propolis to formulation, manufacturing, quality control and packaging, takes place in the brand's laboratory in Occitania. Many products carry organic certification, and the range also includes honeys, fresh and dried pollen from French beekeepers, and hive-based skin, hair and lip care. As with every food supplement, follow the daily amount on the label and do not exceed it.

Why Buy Propolia at Paris Pharmacy

Paris Pharmacy ships authentic Propolia products straight from France, the same hive products sold in France.
